We lost one of the great character actors this week.
Val Avery did menace and sleaze as well as anyone, and was a memorable presence in many of the films of John Cassavetes.

I used to love this guy’s frequent cameos in the first run of the TV episodes of Columbo. He has a face that gets you instant credibility as an “everyday” kind of guy”.
I was so upset when i heard he died. He was my favorite in Odd Couple, and he was awesome at playing funny yet mischievous roles. Amazing actor that i feel wasn’t credited as much as he should have been!
